For those who say "you should search first"
Ok...I normally go thru like every post from the last day available on the forum... I sometimes find the answer to what I'm looking for in someone elses post.. but occasionally I have a question that I cant seem to find the answer, and I'm pretty sure someone else has asked and has been answered. I see alot of people flaming newbies with "you should of searched using google," etc...
what do you place in the search engine to get a good result?
Example: Google.com
Where I work, we're not allowed access to the internet (I work for Charter Communications) I have to go thru loops holes in the sys to get google.com
but I enter maxima.org and of course I get links to the page... but how do I search old threads?
do I enter things like;
maxima.org/car stuttering
(if I have issue with my car stuttering?)
or
maxima.org/clutch/how to
(if I'm searching for um... how to change a clutch)
do you kinda of get me here? I end up mostly getting like 2 org threads... and the rest are crap links to car loans, deals, crap... that I just dont care for.. so how do you guys get good results with these search engines?
sorry if this has been asked too...

If you want my REAL opinion, you will most likely SAVE $20 the first time you find the answer to a question that you really need to know about. I saved WAY more than that when the search was free, so as soon as I had $20 in savings (which was when I bought my first mod, an RSB) that resulted directly from being on here, I donated. I have also donated since then, back when we upgraded servers.
As it has been mentioned, donating allows you to find the answers that a lot of OLDER (in time, not age) owners have already answered years ago. Most of the 4th gen members who are true experts in this model of car have moved on to 5th gens, 6th gens, G35s, 350Zs, even Sentras (haha). Because of that, much of the good info is older, and only accessable through search- which is a great reason to donate.
/soapbox...

yeah I recall being on the org. I was nismomaxman1, but I lost my original password to my email, so no longer could I fix my password and restablish myself with that name... hence Nismomaxman2. Shoot I had a 3rd gen... and I recall having the free search, and man did I use it... then of course I had the 3rd gen, wanted a 4th... got the 4th gen, and now I'm just stuck on that model...I cant complain the car is still "in" as far as looks and performance... that and its super affordable... I dont need another car payment... I'd rather own my car... and be able to mod, than to pay maybe $250-$400 on a car that wont be mine til 3-4yrs... but yeah... the org has helped alot... and I do think it worth the money... especially when you questions arise, that I never had before... oh man and some of the old threads had neat projects/photos of stuff people are barely thinking of doing now... have been discussed/thought up way back...

what phenryiv1 said.
The best return by far for any $20 investment I've made is what I've gotten by donating to this site. I've used the org since 2000 (different screen name, and i lurk more than post), had the pleasure of having Daniel B. Martin reply to one of my posts, and my Maxima love affair has been immensely helped by this site. And I've saved literally thousands in repair bills by learning stuff from the site, including the $20 search function.
Arguably the best site on the 'net, all things considered, if you really dig your max.
