going with 9004 or 9007 HID's kit

I currently have wired up my headlights to run 9007's and so my housing is modded and AE as well. And i have another set of headlights unmodded completely. I've made up my mind to go ahead and get an HID kit not a retro at this time. since the kits are 200ish at most. rather then hack up a set of headlights and playing with stuff i don't understand too much about.

my concern is, obviously going 9007 gives me more halogen light output but the housings were not designed for it. But then again no halogen housing is design for HID. I'm thinking if i get a 9007 HID kit and use my currently housings that it would create a lot more glare VS me using a 9004 OEM housing.

This puts me in the situation that I'm in now. Its not going to cost me anymore money. Just a little more time, cause if want 9004's it will take me a day or so to AE those lights and rewire my harness. I'm sure a couple of us should of ran into the same problems as i have. For the journey of better light output. when i look at the pictures HID kit glare is HID kit glare they all look a like.

Same here. I stupidly thought I would get those amazing outputs. But now I understand more about retrofitting them and all. Planning to do it sometime...

on and retro bases its about 300$ in parts. i've seen hid kits go for 150$. plus i rather just do plug and play for now. Get a taste of HID's. plus if i get them and decide to go retro i can always sell them to my friend.

thats is my target now. in all honesty i see myself with this car for maybe 1 year longer. so i'm more or less modding stuff that can be removable to the next car or something that i can sell to the general public not just maxima specfic. radar, audio, wheels, HID kits cant go in many other cars and if it doesn't fix on the car i get next i can sell it easier cause more fitments.

but back on topic. anyone have more input if the 9007 kit in 9004 housing would glare more then 9004 kit in the 9004 housing? it would honestly take me 5 min convert to either one.

There wouldn't be extra glare. The bulb filaments are the same its just the bases that are different.

I'm think the same way as you turtle. I kinda want to get the Hid kit first then do the retro. Just to test the waters a bit. I already have a set of Audi A6 projectors but I really don't want to hack into my headlights yet.
I was planning on getting the R34 headlamps and retroing them but I don't want to do it on my stock housings.
