100 bucks is standard for most places. which is a ripoff. unless hes including the cost of the o2 sensor as well.
i suggest you buy a oem one from courtesy parts ($120) and either do it yourself or find someone off the forums who will probably do it for lot less. only problem is that theyll need to get under the car whcih is a real *****

I just replaced the o2 sensor behind the Catylitic converter and completed it in about 1 hour. That's because I have limited mechanical skills and fear of getting underneath the car. It could have taken 5 minutes if I did not have to hammer the sensor free (did not have a breaker bar). I also needed to borrow an oxygen sensor socket (image at: http://www.toolsource.com/OstImages/...ages/67696.jpg) from a friend. The Haynes manual was a great help. I recently purchased an OBD II reader (after the ses light came on) and this lovely tool ($100 at Checker auto parts) allowed me to successfully diagnose the problem.
Bottom line is that if you can turn a socket wrench and jack your car up, then there is no need to go to the dealer for this repair.
PS: I did get ripped off for the part at Pinnacle Nissan (Scottsdale, AZ) for $140 before tax. You may be able to find it ("downstream oxygen sensor") on the internet for about $90.

if youre doing it yourself, do not go and buy a universal O2 sensor. i made that mistake. i mean, once theyre in they work fine...but in order to put them in you have to take the old one out and splice all the wires together and its a real mess and can be a pain in the as$.
as for the mechanic, if hes doing it for $100 including the O2 sensor...ide say thats a good deal. if its the price for the O2 sensor + $100 labor, then forget that. do it yourself.
