This might not be the right question to ask on this board. I love my Max! I have the opportunity to buy my friends '93 SE-R. It only has 75k miles on it. I would like to use this as my daily commuter and The Max for the weekends. Your thoughts please.

ok

Is it the 5 speed or Auto? With less than 100k miles that's a keeper if ya ask me. What's he asking for it? less then 4500 and that's a sweet deal. I have always loved that car

RE: SE-R

If its a stickshift I would get it were I you. Your profile says you have an auto Maxima, so having a stick would be pretty cool (unless you lived in a huge city where stick would get really old really quick). just trying to help.

The 1991/1992 had the inverted intake manifolds which gave the same peak HP but had a better power curve. I think those were the fastest years. The SE-R is a fun car to drive and it comes with a LSD to boot!

How much he is asking? If it is a fair price, get it.

Before my Max, I drove a '92 NX2000, which is almost identical to the SE-R. Great car to drive. Love it. Don't get a black one though. A black small car is way too hot in the summer. That's also one main reason I decide to change.

Another reason is getting tired of driving a stick in getting worse Bay Area traffic.

It's a 5-speed, Red, and he's asking 4k. It's in great shape. The '93 specs say it's the fastest between '91 to '93. I'm getting it this coming weekend. Thanks for your support.

www.se-r.net

Start there.

Our SR20DE powered little brothers have so much more time, effort, sweat, blood, soul, and money invested in them that it's not even funny. We're like riceboys compared to them.

A "basic" F-max stage II turbo kit is good for 300fwhp+ (vs. 110~120fwhp stock). They've got, uh, five coilover suspensions available? JIT, Ground Control, Motivational Engineering, Truechoice, Shocktek, and probably a few others, and at least twelve different sets of camshafts (JWT alone has the following grinds: S2, S3, S4, C1, C2, C3, plus valve springs)...

We have, uh, riiiiiiiiiiight.

BUY THE SE-R!!! Then proceed to make it faster than your Maxima for comparably little money.

Re: SE-r

$4k? I sold my NX2000 in Jan, with 105k, at $3.5k. So I guess that is a good price.

I own the car ~3.5 years, only major problem is the passenger side motor mount, which is a common problem within SE-R and NX. Cost me $100 (part + labor). I had to fix it because potential buyers think there is something wrong with the engine. After I change it, the car feel so solid again that I almost change my mind.

Another problem you should check is the ventilation control (the one control outside air or inside). It control a door and that door tends to get stuck. My stuck at open. I didn't bother to get it fix though.

Other than that, no problem at all. Not even a leak @ 105k.
