does anyone have instructions to perform a red/clear taillight mod on a 1996 maxima? i heard you can remove the amber piece on the outer tails.

 

It cant be removed on the 1995-96.. You will have to tint or buy new clear tail lights

 

there is a clear paint you can buy that you spray on the amber part of the tail light and it makes them red/clear. i think Testors paint makes it

no, the method you speak of only works on 97-99 models, if you look at ur tailights youll notice that the amber plastic is a solid piece thats part of the actual lens, the 97-99 youll notice the amber is behind a clear plastic lens. custom maxima sells red clears for your model but the look leaves something to be desired.
