Accident discussion

i just stumbled upon a blog entry that i made on myspace after my accident a little while ago. Taught id share this poetic piece with you guys.

12.23.06 Car Crash

Well i dont really know what to say, it all happened with in a matter of seconds. It was a normal Saturday morning except for it being wet outsite nothing seemed out of place. Me and a bunch of my friends were driving to Hardford to pick up something for this kid. Just before the accident happened acutally i took a turn into the highway, and there was no coming back except for going onto the opposite side of the road, so i took it. After that i shouldev knew something would have happened. And it did, about 150FT down the road a traffic light, i slowly came up to it keeping a safe distance away from the car in front of me (so i dont him him, later on i found out that was a very good idea!). Were standing there waiting for the light to turn green talking, laughing about something..... and than Its as if time has stopped. I slowly turned my head into my rear view mirror, and by slow motion with all the fancy movie effects that they have in huge blockbusters, everything happened frame by frame. I saw her car slide into mine at 45+ MPH Helplessly i watched as my car was being ruthlessly and unfairly devowered by her font bumper, what i saw i don't think i can write on paper. Yet in a split second i found my self looking forward again and feeling the force of a 40 mph crash. Not right away might you, at first i was just shocked and confused. I took a second to think on what just happened. My hot headed friend quickly got out of the car to go beat up the other driver, I had to drop all of my emotions and stop him from doing ANYTHING, last thing i needed was to bail him out of Jail. Once that was over, i made my way outside. At first i could only see her car. Once i saw the whole front end of her what looked to be a 2000+ Nissan Altima, I was stoped dead in my tracks, if her car is in such a bad shape, than mine is probably worse than i feared.I didnt want to walk around but i forced my legs to move. One step, two step, three step it seemed like i was going on a hiking trip. Finally i made it around the back of the car... i just stood there. Not knowing what to think, what to say, what to DO! I looked over to my buddy and said.... THATS IT !?

My car had a mere crack or two on the bumper. The paint was scratched up the plate chewed up and of course later on after some inspection frame bent and 1/4 panel damage.. Her car.... probably totaled! had to be towed out of there.

That is exactly what happened to our explorer....not once but twice. No frame damage either time but both a 2001 Mustang (3 years ago) and a 94 Volvo (Last year) were both totaled while we just replaced the cracked bumper and bent tailpipe.

yeah but i was just surprised how tough the maxima was... especially because the rear end was hit before and whoever fixed it did a **** poor job. Maybe I'm just surprised because visually it has almost no damage... most people have to look twice before they could tell that it got hit.

I don't get why you guys are having such trouble reading, I got through it fine.

But anyway, my old maxima was similarly rear-ended a few years ago and survived without a scratch while the other car was totalled. Now if only they'd make our front bumpers as stout as the rear
