Err...help me(?)
Err...help me(?)
Umm, so everything seems fine in my Max, except one little thing. The eBRAKE light stays on
It just happened this morning, I didn't notice it until a minute or two of driving [my left arm/hand covers a lot of the dash...]
What's up with the e-brake light?
-Didn't happen last night (when I last drove)
-I've had SES light for sometime now. The only code it throws is 01 11, the "jackpot" code. I disregard it and just keep on resetting it, don't feel like dealing with it now.
-I ALWAYS use my ebrakes.
-Just got my rear calipers + pads replaced last month.
-The only other things I've done to the car recently are change the spark plugs [with NGK Plat, yeah, I'm kinda lazy], and did Metal_Maxima's LED dome and map lights [the wiring is such hell for the map lights...don't feel like ranting about that though heh]. That's all.
I reset the SES light before I came home from school today, e-brake light still stays on, SES light never came on. Everything seems normal driving to and from school though.
Help? Please?
Thanks

Thanks! That was it. It was just a bit above min
But what could've caused this? A leak in the brake lines? Bad calipers?
I bled the brakes with some friends when I changed the calipers, 2-man way.

How are your fronts looking? My e-brake light went on a little while back too, but it was my front pads that needed replacing, not my rears. After I put new pads on there and bled and filled up the fluid again, the light went out. Maybe it's time to do your fronts too.
I betcha that's why your fluid is low again, so I wouldn't worry about a system leak or your new calipers being the problem just yet. My fluid was just above the minimum line before I got mine changed too, so I reckon it's a simple symptom of worn out pads and the need to have more fluid in the lines.
Oh, and whatever you do, don't top off the fluid unless you plan on bleeding them again. You don't want to have too much fluid in there after you put your new pads on!
