Check Engine Light On

So my check engine light has been on and I finally had a buddy of mine hook up a diagnostic to and found out that my Knock One Sensor is bad. Does anyone know how much this will cost to replace and where is a good site that does discounting for us Nissan owners is? I dont really want to go directly through the stealership. Thanks in advance.

You mean your knock sensor? Also a knock sensor doesnt trigger a CEL so therefore you have some other problem to.

Wait...so you've been on this site for 2 1/2 years, made twice as many posts as me, and you didn't know what a knock sensor was?

Well I thought it was an O2 sensor, but when hooked up to the diagnostics nothing came up for a bad O2 sensor, he said that is was showing Knock Sensor 1 is bad. I found this odd and weird, but now I dont know what to do for it?

the knock sensor is an easy fix. use some extensions, a u joint, and you are all set. Do not remove the manifold like they say in some places. 85 is reasonable for the sensor.

Please help. I have recently changed the O2 Sensor onmy 1999 maxima SE Limited. Reset the cel by follwing the instruction provided on this site. The cel Cleared for a week and then back on. Checked CEL codes and 05 05. 05 05 means undefined or no trouble found. Can someone tell me what is going on. If there are no trouble, why did the cel come on? thanks

Off subject there Fran, but it can be triggered by a voltage surge, check your battery and connections.
