A month or so ago I was looking thru the members rides section on here and saw that in someones engine shot they had this same cap. Just wondering if I had a weirdo cap or it needed to be modded a certian way or whatever...oh well

Did they have a REAL Nismo cap, or this exact fake one? Even if theirs was also a fake, it may not have been this one, maybe another fake that fits.

Not always true, you just need to have an eye for the auctions. For example if you look at an auction with a seller that has 100,000+ feedback, and is trying to sell you some brand new fuel injectors for $19.99 you back off. But if its a low feedback, independent guy trying to sell a mod go for it. I got my Pacesetter STS for $50 off of ebay, good deal if you ask me

It's like walking into Autzone and being able to sift through all the products and seperate the no-name brands vs. quality

pretty sure the people won't take it back.

And the ebay+cars=no good is bull. I've bought enough stuff from ebay that worked fine and so have a lot of guys. Not all the parts are ****. You just need to know what you're getting into. Thinking you're getting a quality Nismo cap for under $20? Should have expected to not work.

if i got the cap i would assume it to work but split into 2 peices shortly. bottom and top. just due to look of the design.

That's what I would suggest as well.

I dunno about that...I think it's alright to buy OEM stuff (just as long as the seller seems trustworthy and has good feedback), but I'd never buy any aftermarket crap straight from Japan or anything...unless it's something that couldn't possibly get screwed up (like, I would think, your oil cap )

yeah I should have known better for THAT cheap. But I have had very good luck on ebay with car parts in the past. I'll just consider it a loss. My only other thought is that the thread is different on the DE-K motor?

I have had very good luck buying stuff off of ebay for my car with very good results, for example i just bought a switchblade key for my maxima and it works great and seems very good, and i also bought a second starter remote for my remote starter on my maxima and that works super duper as well. You just need to pay attention and make sure it will fit/work on your car before you buy it.
