wd-40 works on the antenna?

the antenna on my max is kinda dry and needs to keep it moving. it wont go down all the way, so should i use wd-40 on it to get it moving again?

A dry lubricant would work better for this application. Graphite poweder comes ti mind. Why not jsut get a new unit? Only 27$, and 15 minutes to change.

WD 40 works like a charm when my antenna went down 3/4 of the way and got stuck. It's a great cleaner too. I just turned on the radio, sprayed it down, let it soak for a minute or so, and then used a rag to wipe the excess, dirt, grit....antenna's been working fine ever since. That stuff does wonders.
