upgrading ground wires?

I am trying to find a good write-up on upgrading my ground and power wires, and cleaning up my battery area... anything around here... I did a search, and see a thousand threads refering to a ground upgrade, but no how to?!?

I dont want to get caried away, just clean it up to look better, and improve the main ground..

I also have looked at grounding kits on E-Bay, but they look goofy to me...

any suggestions? help? how to's?

Please search. Go the the audio subsection. We have covered it 47 times. The ground wires are not as beneficial as the big 3.

I've got the RAIZIN current stabiliser kit installed (similar to the active tuning one but with more wires and a control unit) and I haven't noticed any appreciable difference.

Luckily I only paid $20NZ for it. IMHO don't get one, if you're itching to spend a hundred or so bucks on your car then buy some high-octane petrol or have your balance and alignment done or something constructive. Not attacking you mate just pointing out how frivolous the current stabiliser kits have been in my experience.

I don't expect magic either. Adding a few extra grounds wouldn't hurt (whether or not you see a difference). I'll take this chance to clean up the stock grounds too. So we'll see now that goes. I appreciate your advice m8, but the deed is done, the kit has been shipped, and i'll just make the best out of my "invesment".

The best thing to do is don't buy a kit. Go get 10-12 feet of BIG wire- something like 0 gauge. Get 6 crimp-ring terminals- 2 reds and 4 blacks, and an inline fuesholder. Make a wire to re-ground your battery to your frame, a wire to re-ground your engine block to your frame, and a FUSED wire going from your battery positive to your alternator positive.

This will do more than a grouding wire set, will cost less, and will help with the operation of accessories sich as windows, lights, and any current drop due to a stereo.

I bought a new positive when I did this. Some day I micht/may upgrade the negative terminal as well. As you can see from my install pics, I zip-tied everything in such a way that it is not just floating around the engine bay.
