^ these will be fine. if you solder them on to the positive side of the LED, the silver line on the diode must be closest to where you soldered, or vice versa if you put them on the neg...

confused yet?

PM me when you get to ready to do this and ill draw you a diagram.
mendon so you are actually soldering a diode and the resistor in series with the positive side of the led? and each led needs one correct?

unless you add a regulator, correct. with a regulator you could use only 1 for them all, but since you get so many diodes when you buy from ebay, you might as well skip the reg and put one on each.

It doesn't have to be on the LED itself (if you cant fit it), just on the line its getting power/ground from.

Just how bright are these in person? Do you think it's affecting your night vision at all?

There should be a min and max amp rating on the LED package. Measure your car's typical system voltage while it is running. See if the voltage goes up at higher RPM's. Take the highest voltage reading and divide by the LED's maximun current/amp rating to the the resistor size in Ohms. Your LED's will last indefinately with the right resistor.

wow finally got back to reading this. the leds i put in my bose radio are flicking and what a pain in the a$$% that was to do. anyhow this makes sense adding the diode somewhere in the power line feeding the led thanks.
