Painting my bumper myself, ur thoughts please
I have a couple of real nasty sore nicks and rock chips on my front bumper, i really want to paint it cause all those marks are white while the max is black. I wanna sand down the whole bumper nicely, spray a coat of primer, then spray the bumper black with automotive paint, and then lastly spray on the clear coat. All the paint is from a local Canadian Tires.
I really wanna do this, but i'm afraid the paint wont match the car. All thoughts are appreciated. THX

paintscratch.com. perfect match paint in a spray can. give thanks to neoraven, he found it. i dont know how you were planning on doing it specifically, but to do it right you should take the bumper off the car. wash it then sand it down well. ide say use 4-500grit and get it roughed up good. no need for primer over the already painted bumper as long as you sand it well. then wash it again to get off the dust. then paint it, wait for it to dry, and then clear it. obviously you wanna do a couple coats of each. oh and make sure you get the 'non-metal' paint as it has a flex addative for bumpers. also, wetsanding the bumper may be a better choice. less dust build up and easier to wash after.
