Wiring experts step in: Wiring harness Differences between A/T vs. M/T ?

I was wondering if there would be any problems with using a wiring harness from an auto tranny in a 5 speed.

I know there would be a problem with the speed sensor, but would there be any other problems?

Any one tried this before?

There should be no problems associated with that. You might have to hardwire some connections that the auto wiring harness doesn't account for and/or switch some connections around but in the end, it can definitely work. Just tape or cut off the connectors that would go to the TCM and make yourself familiar with the wiring diagrams in the FSM.

yeah, you'll probably have to clip and splice the harness ends where the transmission and harness plug into one another if you want stuff like reverse lights. You might have to do some wiring to the starter to bypass the park/neutral start thing of the autos. .
