New Bluebatmobile overlays for 4th gens *pics*

Some of you guys probably know about bluebatmobile and his products...he makes transparent vinyl films that you can put on your lamps to tint them or color them (red-outs, amber, etc.). So far he's made stuff for the 6th and 5th gens, nothing for the 4th. Well I've been sick of the uneven, non-glossy finish I did with the Niteshades tint for awhile now...stripped the tails clean and contacted Andy about making some products for our gen. Went down to San Diego and got some templates made...he's got overlays for 97-99 full smoke tails, smoked rear turnsignal/reverse lamps, smoke headlamps and bumper lights.

I've got the smoked rear turn signal/reverse lamps (DTM style...but much easier to do and more OEM looking). They went on VERY easy (much easier than my gf's B14 with round lenses), are glossy and last long. A couple years ago we used some of his amber vinyl material to custom make amber corners for my gf's B14, it's held up with no problems at all. Plus he's a real cool guy to deal with. Anyway here are some pics of them...

edited my first post to explain a lil better...basically a transparent vinyl material you place on top of your lenses.

The overlays apply in a manner similar to tint (on the lenses) and to a ricer body-vinyl (on body parts).

His products are well received for almost every application that I have seen.

Car looks great as usual. How much did it run you for the tails? Does he ship? And lastly can he do a smoked look for the clear bumpers and/or the AE headlight mod?

Both sides are using the bluebatmobile overlay.

Ah shouldn't post when I'm tired...keep leaving stuff out. I don't think he has posted prices up yet, but these typically go for $35-$40.

Thanks man, they're 07 Altima SE wheels

$35-$40...the film has an adhesive backing, kinda like a sticker. But when you peel it off it leaves no glue residue. You peel off the backing, dunk it in soapy water and put them on the lens and position till you like where it is. Then you use a credit card to push air bubbles/water bubbles out and flatten it. When it dries it stays on with no problems, through high pressure car washes, etc. But when you don't want it you just peel it off clean. Cheaper alternative than buying the smoked tails off ebay..easier than opening your tails to do DTM mod. Also not permanent...if you don't want it anymore you peel it off like a sticker.

Yep, that's why I went with him...heard good things about his products on other cars.

If there's interest in stuff from 95-96 guys he'd need a test car to draw out templates in San Diego.

If you guys want to order or mb want to volunteer as 95-96 test car just email him at bluebatmobile@san.rr.com

Thanks man, he gave me and my gf a discount since we were testcars.

Yes he ships...he shipped these overlays out to us (we went down to SD so he could get templates..made the overlays over the weekend and shipped it out). It only took one day for us to receive them...but then were in LA and he's in SD. He has smoked overlays made for the bumper lights. AE headlight...do you mean the whole headlight smoked or just kinda around the headlight housing?

Just smoked around the headlight to make it appear as an AE headlight. Also, does he offer different variations of darkness? I may be interested.

Well he doesn't make that yet, but he can do it if there's a volunteer in SD. He's done similar stuff for other cars.

He has two variations in tint darkness 3/10 (lighter), or 6/10. He may have more...he does body color stuff too, etc.

6/10 (what i've got)

Altho a local car would probably be preferable, that could work...email him and see what he says.

I have no idea about the group deal thing...he'll probably be posting in this thread soon. He already has the bumperlight overlays, and can make them in basically any color you want...fogs tho, I got my stock foglights stolen loooong ago, so we'd need another 97-99.

Im down for the 95-96's Im pretty sure we would all like a change from the regular orange our cars come with factory. And since there arent roo many if any attractive decent looking tails for us, Id like to see some for the 95-96's as well.

Yeah, I was thinking it'd be perfect for you guys since the only realistic options you have are altezzas or the crystal red/clears. These let you keep oem quality and are real easy to do. I emailed him this thread so he could answer some of the questions...

Yep...don't even know why someone would steal Maxima foglights.

Reuseable after a short period of time, I think so. When you're installing them you can peel them off and re-do them if you didn't position them correctly basically as many times as you want, just have a soap+water solution on the lamps and dunk the overlay in the same soap+water solution. Not sure of long-term tho.

Since you are offering to develop a new product for the market, I can (at least temporarily) waive the "you have to be a sponsorer of the site to advertise retail sales" rule.

If you develop a regular customer stream on here, an admin may request that you jump through the hoops to "sponsor" the site. I don't know what that entails or I would tell you.

Once you have the needed 15 posts, PM me and we can discuss how to approach advertising your product on here. I can grant some latitude since you are enduring R&D costs to develop the new templates for a product that is in demand and is not otherwise available.

i love blubatmobile's stuff. i wish i knew he was doin this for our cars and i would have waited. i just gto some stuff for my tails on another site pre-cut and about the same idea. i did the full tail light since that was all they offer. mine is 35% but they also do 20%. the pictures look a lot darker than in person. you can see the red a lot more in person, and i had already done the DTM mod so it looks darker on the bottom than stock or red/clear. it turned out awesome and the vinyl is way easy to work with. sounds like this will be the new trend among 4genners

Didn't weigh them...but they're not light, and not too heavy...something like stock 5th gens.

Do you have pics in the sunlight? I was wondering how it'd look with the whole thing tinted.

Come on 95-96 owners in that area. volunteer your car. looks like 97-99 owners have an advantage over us since there arent too many early 4th genners. wish I was in there area. My car would'eve been parked right where u wanted it. IMO this looks so much cleaner than niteshade or any other spray for that matter. I just want it for the top portion of my tails.
