Yay! Took them over two hours to install the things and they are still pretty sticky. Gas gauge wont register correctly. Tach is jumpy, etc. but they look damn cool and the people who installed them said to bring em back in and they'll make it work. Im gonna give it a couple days to see if it'll just loosen up.

RE: Installation...

That all for two hours of work eh? Cheaper than I though it would be. Anywayz, they look awesome and you're probably one of the first people on the forum to have them, so you get my props for this one...

What are the reverse indiglos? Sounds interesting. I've only seen pics of Initial K indiglos for 97.

Night pics and controler

I think that he mounted it under the hood because i asked him and he said that he couldnt really find a place because it was so big. I was happy because I wanted to avoid having it visable. So he just hooked it up to be on with the lights. These guys do such a kick *** job.
Oh and here are the night pics

Sticky

Anyone have any idea how to make the needles not sticky? Its going to be annoying if they remain sticky like this...

I remember there was a thread about this awhile back and a couple of the people who had done it had the same problem. If I remember correctly one of them even busted his cluster and had to buy a new one. Do you still have the instructions? Aren't you supposed to unscrew the needles in a certain direction? I think that would be a good place to start.

Their not going to get "unsticky". The needles have springs on the back of them coiled up about 10 times. When you turn the needles to get them off, it bends the springs and damages the needles. I busted mine the same way.

Ehhhhhh??!
You think my needles are dead? I had a shop do this. The needles still work and seem accurate they just stick sometimes and then jump to where they should be....

The controller to my needles is tucked up inside the little door that controls access to the fuse block, keeps it out of the way, but still accessible for when I need to fiddle with it.

I found I had to take a drill bit and open up the center hole of the gauge faces a bit. It wasn't quite large enough and it tended to bulge up a bit, hence, making the needles stick slightly.

I got my kit from http://www.importintelligence.com/ but like bosco500 busted the needles on my gauge cluster. My tachometer, fuel gauge are off and my temp gauge fell off one day while i was "enthusiatically" driving thru traffic(sigh).

I still have my kit (uninstalled) but am waiting for my used gauge cluster to come in the mail. The needles on the gauge cluster are very delicate and although some people have had success with the install, others have not.

I think the guys at import intelligence install the kits and guarantee their work (i toyed w/ the idea of having them install my kit on the new gauge cluster). They are located in the Philly area.

There were other threads regarding these needles; do a search and you may find additional info in this forum.

Installing them yourself isn't a big deal, it took me like 5 hours, but that's just because I was being really **** about it. I spliced the positive line for the needles into the wiring for the tail lights behind the fuse block and ran the negative to a moderately sized bolt under there, works perfectly.

Just keep some masking tape handy for keeping the wires under control, and you won't have any problems installing them yourself.
