Questions on Greddy SP2 Install

Got my SP2 a couple of days ago and am itching to put it on.
In the box it came with 2 gaskets and 3 bolts(why 3 I'll never know). After reading about fitment issues and leaking exhaust I was wondering if I can reuse the gaskets from my Budget B pipe or should I just go out and buy new ones? I plan to put it on myself so would it be a biatch to do? I read about the Permatex copper gasket product but it takes 12 hrs for it to cure but this is my daily driver. Would that be the better route than extra gaskets? Removing the o2 sensor should be easy, right?

Btw, the diameter of the Budget B pipe looks the same diameter as the SP2 but I won't know until I put them side-by-side.

No need to buy new gaskets. Reuse what you have if they are in good shape (if that makes you feel better), or use the new gaskets Greddy provided.

Install is easy. O2 is easy to remove and reinstall as well. Don't forget a little antisieze on the o2 sensor when you reinstall it. Jump right in, you'll be fine.

lol, I've seen o2's that were far from easy to remove, some you can go for a highway blast to get it nice and hot, but I had to deal with one that wouldn't come out without cutting the entire bung out and welding a new one in, but that's the exception not the norm

True, guess I'm spoiled having a CA spec max. BlackCat, considering you're in Canada, you might not be so lucky. Try PB Blaster and let it soak for 30 minutes if it's stuck.

Thanks!
We had a short snow period up here so hopefully I won't run into problems tonight.

I believe one of the bolts is for the B-Pipe hanger, the other two are for the axle-back connection.

I hope your b pipe doesnt hang like mine did. I swear, if they would have welded the flanges just a little bit differently it woulda save me all the damn stress/breaking of the rear hangar and hanging bull**** near the rear wheel.

I blew out the greddy gasket at the muffler a few times and ended up putting back in the metal one and sandwiching it in there with another new non-metal gasket which finally stopped the leaking.

Installation is easy and fitment is good with the SP2. The O2 sensor shouldn't be too bad removing, nothing a little leverage can't take out. My advice to you is to get genuine Nissan gaskets. The gaskets supplied aren't too great... they lasted me a few months before I bought new ones at the dealer.

D*mn it....that o2 sensor requires a 22mm wrench, not a 12mm wrench, right?
The sticky says 12mm but that's not correct. I tried with the visegrips but there's not enough leverage underneath while the cars on jacks.

try using an adjustable wrench on it. if you can get the b-pipe/cat unbolted you can unplug the o2 sensor by following the wire and removing the grommet to access the plug. then it might be easier to work on it not underneath the car.

Yup, 22mm. IIRC, you can rent the O2 socket from Autozone for free if you don't have a wrench big enough.

I don't need to use that o2 sensor wrench for the sensor after the cat do I? It looks like a normal open end 22mm wrench will do, right? I'm right next to Sears so I can walk over and pick up a 22mm wrench during lunch.

The o2 sensor tool just makes it easier to slip it over the wire and get the sensor.

The o2 sensor after the cat looks like this:

Looks like a simple open ended wrench should do here.

i bought one of those 02 sensor sockets and i dont ever use it. its so bulky its usually hard to wedge it in the area with the ratchet attached and on top of that since it has that cut out section in the socket, mine actually started to bend. try tapping with a hammer on a wrench..usually once you break it free it unthreads relatively smooothly.

I know what it looks like.

IIRC I had an access issue without the tool.

Most definitely. I made the suggestion of getting the free rental O2 socket just in case you didn't feel like spending money on a 22mm wrench.
