says egr system fault (exhaust gas recirculation)
basically i gotta replace the egr valve?

any easy how tos or cheap places to buy a new valve. any advice would be appreciated. thanks

 

Check the vacuum line on the bottom of the canister, it is a very short line only like 1.5" or so that runs to the valve, it's hard to get at but mine was dry-rotted and cracked causing that code. There are several other possible causes/checks that can be performed as well, check the FSM

 

It might just be blocked with crud....clean it and see if it helps...the how to is in the stickies...IIRC
