I prototyped the RT cat
and I did feel a difference in the way it accelerated before and after the installation. I noticed a gain in the midrange all the way up to redline. From 3,000 RPM on up there was a noticeable difference. Take a look at my dyno charts to see the gains that I got from this modification.

Tony, jack that thing up and put it on dude!!!
Tony, you havent put that thing on yet, whats up with that. Your gonna luv it!!! Think the RT Cat made it louder, it will be even louder with the test pipe. I reset my check engine light and I've been runnin fine. I got my FPR and will install it this week end

Yeah $179 ain't bad at all. Do you know what state they're in? About how much did they charge for shipping? I have the Greddy Catback and JetHot Cattman Y-Pipe, do you recommend the 2.5" CAT (that's what everyone else thinks I should get)?

It doesn't work that way. If you run a 2.5 inch exhaust pipe and it suddenly increases to 3 inches the velocity of the gas flow actually decreases as it fills the increased volume.(That part is physics)
Now a Cat is a restriction of sorts so it's felt that you may need the 3 inch Cat on high output motors with SC and the works.
A 2.5 inch cat is adequate for any non SC Max.(IMHO)
A straight piece of 2.5 inch would probably be better than a Cat, however I think the Nissan engineers did a damn good job of designing a high performance powertrain and I think from reading this board for months the real gains are made with a "Y" pipe.
