shot in the dark, but Q about plastic that covers speedo/tach/etc
the piece of plastic that is in front of my gauges rattles incessantly... i've tried wedging folded pieces of construction paper in various places between it and the actual surrounding dash pieces, but it still rattles over every single little groove in the road.. at one point i got it to stay pretty much in place with a well-placed piece of folded paper, but then it rattled from my stereo. this is the third 4th gen i've had, and i had much louder stereos in the previous two, and never had an issue with this thing making noise.. is there anything anyone would suggest, and how ludicrous would it be for me to consider just having it totally removed? just throwing it out there, b/c it drives me crazy and i find myself cranking the stereo all the time to not hear the rattle, and then i get headaches.. and that pisses me off.. any ideas?

r u talking about the front cover with the two screws on the top? or the clear plastic cover.
If its the front one, try tightening the two screws on the top. Another thing is the clips on it. They could be bent out of place and not clipping in right. You can buy new ones of thats the problem...
If its the clear one...um...its not popped in right. To me it just sounds like something is not tighted or clipped in strong
