1999 Cali -> Fed Spec Conversion Questions

Heres the deal. I have a 99 SE Cali-spec that I am planning on doing a fed spec conversion on. So far I have both the front and rear 3.0L exhaust manifolds from a fed spec 95 max. I was told that I only need to use the front header (closest to the radiator to kill the nasty precat in the header. Next I have a fed spec Cattman y-pipe. I know I still need to get an 02 simulator and have a few sites that I think I can get them from. Ok now here are the questions:

1. Do I need to get new gaskets that connect the block to the manifold or are they reusable? I know I need to get new gaskets that connect the manifold to the y-pipe and the y-pipe to the cat.

2. Does it matter which 02 sim I get? I have 2 links below...tell me which ones will work because there is a difference in price.

http://webstore.o2simulator.com/inde...PROD&ProdID=13

http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7erz1/id1.html#pso2sim <-- The part is PS02SIM

3. Is a conversion like Maxima-4DSCs writeup really necessary? Wont you kill the precat by just swapping front manifolds? Here is the original thread:

Sorry for all the questions/details...just trying to get this done. And yes I know it only adds 4 whp but I am too far in to go back now.

1. No need for new gaskets, they're totally resuable. FWIW, they're $75 each.
2. I'd go with the second one. Or call Cattman, he has them too. FWIW, I'm using an O2 simulator from Cattman and it works flawlessly. And it was $25 as well IIRC. Just a FYI, the one from Cattman can simulate two O2 sensors as well.
3. IMO, no need for all that. Just go with your plan here and you're good to go.

Even Autozone:
BA part number 037-8013 at $26.99 each, and Felpro MS91459 at $8.99 each.

Interesting. My quote came from Garrands Nissan using the 25% internet discount. See here....

Shocked by the huge price difference.

Regardless, the gaskets are resuable IMO. Save your $$.

Yeah my dealer quoted me $47.23 for the gasket and that was my primary concern. I was just concerned that I needed to do everything that Maxima-4DSC did. I do not need to touch the rear manifold, correct?

Just front manifold, 02 sim, fed spec y pipe. And I know I still have the swirl valve and all other crap but it is not even worth bothering with.

Great...I will call Brian Catts on Monday and place the order for an O2 sim and the y pipe gaskets. I am still waiting on the mainfold in the mail, but other than that I should be ready to go.
