hey, was wondering if those of you with H&R's think the drop is enough? i'll be getting them soon and was wondering if its enough to get rid of the wheel gap. i know sprints have the lowest but i don't want the harshness. if not, i think i might cut a coil, what do you guys think?

You say you want a low drop but not the harshness?? Sorry mang that's not gonna happen. If you drop the car, the ride will suck, and the degree to which the ride will depends on the spring. That's just the way it is.

Yes, Sprints have the lowest drop, with the exception of coilovers. The H&R's have the best ride, but if you cut a coil (never recommended) the ride will deteriorate. I have the H&R's and love the drop level. It isn't so much to looked slammed, but it is about the same level as a stock BMW with sport package, which I think is the perfect level, very subtle.

well you can always go with coilovers and adjust the height if you wish... but i've never heard of a coilover with a nice ride... i think the drop is adjustable usually 1-3 inches...
if you are concerned about ride... go with the H&Rs never heard of a spring with a better ride...
H&Rs with a bodykit look great... it'll look just more than 3inches lower... well 3 inches less groundclearence...
and the wheelgap is nice with the H&Rs

I got H&R's

H&R's drop nice... like eric said, not a SLAMMED look, but it really looks sporty. Plus the ride isnt that harsh... as it would be with some other springs. You can see a pic of my car in my sig.

Re: H&Rs

I want to get H&Rs really bad because I know they are great, but I have stock struts? Do I really need to replace them? If I don't will my car's suspension be ruined (the last thing I want to do)? If I have to get new struts, should I go Tockico or KYB? Thanks for the information.

Just installed mine tonight

Had a guy install mine tonight, took him maybe an hour w/ no spring compressor or anything... I did H&R w/ Tokico's... I absolutely LOVE the drop level, like everyone said... verrry sporty looking, similar to BMW's sport but not ghetto slammed... the ride is a TAD harsher then stock, but it handles LIKE NONE OTHER now!! It handles sooo much better I am shocked.

I'll post updated pics of how much it was lowered.

Sounds great. I heard that Tokicos are softer then Koni, even on their softests setting? Do you know if that is true?

What's the drop? I just had Eibachs put on and it looks like the same drop you have with the H&R's and the ride isn't harsh at all.

Drop on the Eibachs was 1.5" front, 1.3" rear.
(my pics are BEFORE the springs)

I have about 3 and 1/2 inches to play with in front. I wouldn't worry about the sides.

Why thank you, but you wouldn't have loved it so much if you had seen it before the drop. And I look forward to seeing you too, big guy!

i wanted little more performance so i went with the apex spring. not as soft as h&r but not as hard as eibachs. but when i park next to other max's that has h&r's or eibachs my car always looks lower and i have bigger tires ( 245/40/18 ).

I love the way the Stillen body kit looks on Maximas, it's one of the few body kits that actually make a car not look gaudy.

What width are those rims and what kind of tires are those?

I have 225's but could put 235's on my 7" rims. I'm thinking the 225's don't look that wide but then again, they handle nice and aren't adding a lot of wheel weight.

i like the h&rs but would like a little lower.... on the other hand any lower and driving around would be difficult..... the front lip is hard enough not to scrape without being 1/2 inch lower....i can almost not even get in my driveway
