I'm checking to see my remote is from a 95 max. The bottom most button doesn't have a horn...it looks like a picture of a dome light with lines coming out of it. I just bought the remote on e-bay and can't get it to program. I have a 97 SE. I'm thinking maybe the battery is dead. The FCC ID on the back is A269ZUA078, ISC 700 K1359. Thanks for any help.

My remote is so worn I don't remember what the buttons look like.

But the remote should look like the one in this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...452625&r=0&t=0

Try changing the battery in the remote first and if that still doesn't work, reprogram the remote.

Here's how:

Compared my 96 remote to the ebay one, there is one difference. The picture of my panic buttom is a "dome light with lines coming out of it" like props000 said, and the four lines coming out of it go towards left meanwhile fan out a little. The ebay remote's lines go down?

JeepRage: The 97 remote should work on a 95. They are all the same remote for all 4th Gens if I'm not mistaken.

jiaxima96: My 95 remote looks like the one on Ebay (from what I make out of my faded buttons). I don't think the pictures really matter.

And the picture of the dome just turns on the dome light (duh!). I don't think that's the panic button. My panic button is the big blue lock button on top. Hold it down for two seconds and the horn starts blaring.

That's interesting. Maybe the bottom button picture does mean a difference. If I press and hold the bottom button (panic button, said in the 96 owner's manual) for 2 secons, the horn starts blaring like "Ba...Ba...Ba...", about one second as interval. The top big button is for door locking only and no matter how long I hold it, no extra thing will be performed. The unlock button is for two-stage door unlock, dome light turn-on and window roll down (front windows only).

My remote looks like the one in the picture. I also had the battery checked and it's fine too. The first time I tried the programming I know I didn't do things in the right order. I tried again today and when I'm putting the key in and out of the ignition, the hazards wont blink. They did the first time I tried it. I thought the code entry enable state and setting mode remain until the driver's door is opened. I assumed when trying again the hazards would blink again. Am I missing something?
