spoiler alert......

Giving back shocks the old "bounce test" and snapped off the spoiler (dumb) although it was about to go anyway. It broke at the bases of the plastic which I assume is common. Suggestions to 1) piece it back together b/c the spoiler itself looks great 2) get ahold of another one

Thanks!

Thats really unfortunate, i know my friend tried to do the same to my car and i actually punched him in the face, they're not metal and they do break easily. Even by sitting a child on it can cause cracks.

very common issue that the wing snaps at the base..
everyone I know who had a wing, that's what happened..
smae for my 96 SE.. that's why I opted for a GLE/GL trunk lid now.. no wing

If you buy the parts to fix the wing, post up some pics, prices and part numbers if you can. This way we have them if anyone else needs them down the road. There is a lot of us that have the factory wings and would like to keep them if this happens. Thanks!

yeah my car was stuck in a snow storm once, and some guys came to help me but pushed on the spoiler instead of the trunk due to it being covered by snow, but hey it happens, can't really blame anyone. i was fortunate to keep my spoiler by getting the kit at nissan.

... one thing i don't get.. when you start to apply pressure on the wing.. dont you feel like its gonan snap... My woman always pulls the spoiler up with force to see if the trunk is closed and it drives me nuts... i just dont get it.. i mean cant you tell that obviously its not the most sturdy thing on the car...

Punch her in the face every time she does it, I'm sure she'll stop eventually.

The part number for the plastic clip is 96032G
The plastic clips costs like $4.10 for all four

and there is a grommet for it which the part number is 96032J
The grommet costs $1.97 for all four.

edit:
For the whole spoiler, some people are going to be digging deep in there pocket.
The cost for the spoiler which comes with the rubber gasket is $559.76.
On top of that you need the 4 nuts to hold it down in the middle which costs $0.12 each.
and then you need the parts I listed above, clips and the grommet
