Best & Softest spring/shock combo?
Sorry for bringing up a tired subject. I did some searching and already know that I will go with H&R for springs. I heard good things about Konis and not so good things about Tokicos. Which ones offer the best ride quality; H&R/Tokicos or H&R/Koni on their softest setting? Thanks.

nobody is answering cuz i think ppl are sick of this topic, but like you said, in general i get the feeling that ppl like knois better. maybe im wrong but who knows, it seems like you should be ok with either but prob better with konis.
I have the H&R's with Tokicos
But I think I'm going to try the Konis, since the konis never really wear out. I'm afraid the tokicos will soften up through the years, so I'll switch to Konis and leave them on the softest setting.
Go with H&R/Koni setup. I adjusted Koni to full soft setting a week ago and the car rides very comfortably but not as soft as with Tokico. You can adjust these shocks to soft setting for city driving and stiff setting for autocrossing or racing.
RE: H&Rs...
H&R and Tockico are supposed to be the softest, but there have been some nasty posts about them blowing out. H&R and Konis are not as soft even on the softest setting, but people seem to like them more. Just trying to help

So how will these do combined with stock springs?
My shocks/struts on my '98 Max SE are getting bad & I need to replace them..
I have no concern for major performace gains but I am interested in getting longer lasting ones.
What do you think?
Thanks

Hmmm
Well I got a price for Tokicos of around $320 but that group buy for the yellow Konis was less!
If the Konis w/stock springs will offer better performance AND last longer than the same with Tokicos I am interested.
I am also interested in improving over stock setup. What brand/model shocks/struts are stock?
Any install price ideas for Konis(need cutting done)? Tokicos?
Thanks for your replies..

Actually there is no proof (or case I can remember) of someone with H&R's having their Tokicos fail on them. Most cases, it is the lower/harsher Eibach, ST, or Intrax springs that kill the Tokicos. So, for all the Tokicos haters out there, I think H&R/Tokicos are fine. When I had them installed, my car handled much much better. As for ride quality, well with any combo other than stock the ride will deteriorate. The lower you go, the worse it gets. If you want to cut your stocker struts, then be my guest, but if you are going to spend so much for the Konis (and pay for the custom install), why not just wait for the AGX's??
This has never been confirmed, but there was a rumor that Tokico recently revalved their HP blues for Maximas due to complaints. So for all we know, the "new" Tokicos are much better.

You should seriously consider springs, your car looks like it's a 4x4. (not being mean, just voicing my opinion)
RE: My Racing Harts...
Actually they're not cheap rips offs. Racing Hart CP-035s actually come in a wide color range - from gold and white (for the cast version) to custom colors (for their forged CP-035s) including silver. Call Dazz Motorsports and you will find out (the website does not show the forged ones). I verified the wheels with them by reading the W.I.N.s (yes, Wheel Identification Numbers) to Racing Hart over the phone. Look at any Racing Hart wheel - they are on the inside support of the rim. Plus, all of the knock-offs have a different lug design - go look for youself at any band and you will see a difference in the way the lugs are spaces (of course you will have to look at 5-lugs). Also, these rims were wieghed in at 13.6 pounds - do you think fake ones would be that light??? Any by the way, have you ever seen them (CP-035s) in real life??? None of them say Racing Hart, that is only for the prepped display ones. You can buy the stickers from Dazz, and I don't plan on it because I'm not trying to show them off. There. That's 5 nice little pieces of evidence that they are real. In addition, the place I bought them from offered them in white and gold as well, but I wanted silver because the others wouldn't match the car. I'm dissapointed - maybe next time you all should call Racing Hart and research more before you post
. By the way, the wheels don't have centercaps (don't know where you got that idea) and I know my car looks like sh*t because I have such low profile tires. I want to get some H&Rs really soon. Or I could just say my car has hydraulics

The Forged wheels come in only white and gold and the cast come in white, gold and silver.

RE: My Racing Harts...
I'm pretty sure you can get either color is either cast or forged. I know cast wheels wouldn't weigh 13.6 lbs., and I did weight my wheels in at 13.6 lbs. each before I mounted my tires. Plus, when I called to confirm, the Dazz Motorsports/Racing Hart rep told me they should be forged and I believe them most...after all, they make the wheels

either you got ripped off or you're trying to pass one on us.
The real RHs are only available in white or gold and ALL of them have the RH on the lip

One of our local autoXer uses them. It's not a perfect picture but you can see the "Racing Hart" on the lip (blown up in the 2nd picture)
The Subzeros are ~ 15.5 lbs in the 17" sizes..

I'm gonna have to agree with Got Rice? on his statements... check this out if you think he's wrong...

I disagree. Always get the *adjustable* Koni's. This will let you tune in a stiffer or softer ride, as you like.

RE: Racing Harts...
Try this: 1-626-962-3330. Dazz Motorsports. By the way, today I took off my wheels, read them the WINs, and ordered the Racing Hart sticker for my wheels(they were free). I didn't want to put them on, but I'm gonna have to
