Name the most PIA job you did on your Max.

I mean just general repairs. I'll start, passenger side CV axle on 2 different Maxima's.

I had a passenger side axle that popped out of it's outer joint during a suspension swap and stayed in the extended position so getting it out of the knuckle was a bastid.

Drilling out exhaust bolts was probably the most frustrating thing I have ever done on the car. The other stuff just takes time to do right.

Removing, Cleaning the upper IM, TB, and all associates. Without the right swivel sockets, etc...and my general ability to make things last a lot longer than they should be, it took me about 10 hours...

I feel you on that, removing and reinstalling my IM took me like 6-7 hours, 3-4 of those hours were on the two damn bolts on the back of the IM next to the firewall

i know suspension work is easy, but when i was changing my back struts and springs, the 17mm bolt from the shock to the wheel was seized, and 50 bucks and 2 ratchets and 4 hours later, there off

Removing the rear header on my 99 Cali Spec when I was doing my exhaust. The EGR tube gave me loads of problems.

An over-torqued KS that a flex socket wouldn't loosen... and my big hands wouldn't fit under the IM

For sure passenger side axle for the very first time....After that it only takes me about 30 minutes to take it out....Also, replacing my fuel filter..Had to cut the rubber lines to get it off. Somethings so cheap, so simple, yet so hard to do.

DAMN Idle nut for the idle pulley. Second time stripping that thing. Worst luck I ever had. All other repairs just require some patience.

Hardest install was my 00VI

diagnosing is always the worst job for me. Dx incorrectly, and you'll be doing useless repairs. Get it right the first time and be sure about it.

Any do-do can do repairs given the proper tools and service manual (and time). That's almost a no-brainer. Dx'ing is where the skill is at.

I'd have to say either replacing the water pump, or trying to run 0 gauge wire through the fire wall while trying to avoid the clutch lines.

Putting the transmission back on to the car after I repaired the manual trans.

The stupid input shaft teeth would not line up with the clutch teeth.

i personally thought the pcv valve installation was a bitc*. that black hose only bends so far when it's only 2.5 inches long and you're afraid to snap the new pcv valve

For me it was the cat removal from stock y and b pipes. Without a torch i could budge the bolts, so i gave up after 4 hours and had a shop do it all(this was just 2 days ago).

Getting some of the old bolts off the stock exhaust. Had to blast a lot of them off with a torch.

1. getting of EGR guide tube- took me several attepts to open it. Finally last attept took me 3 hrs with the right tools. I felt great when I started the car after I cleaned the $h%^% out of the egr and CEL was off!
2. Removing rod nuts on rear struts. Bolts were rusted so I had to cut them off.
