Anyone running on Gabriel struts/shocks?

I tried doing a search on Gabriel, but all that came up with is the city, "San Gabriel."

Anyone using Gabriel suspension struts/shocks, and, if so, how do you like them?

Gabriel are the ones they sell at Autozone, I realize they are not very good but I believe Gabriel did not spec/size these struts properly and if anyone trys using them they will probably encounter problems with installation and operation.

Yep, they're trash. They didnt even last a day on my car. The threaded post stripped out and tore up the upper strut mounts. I never even lowered the car back to the ground before I was taking them back.

I tried installing Gabriels on my car, just wanted OEM type struts. I have done lots of repairs but not many struts. The installation turned out to be the strut job frmm hell. They were difficult to install and when I got them installed they would creak when the wheel was turned. After much trouble I purchased Monroes, they were a different sizes than the Gabriels. The Monroes fit and worked with no issues. Gabriel said that those were the correct struts for my car but I belive they are selling the wrong size for 4th generation Maximas. I think Gabriel has spec these struts improperly.

JNCRacer - Good move pulling those Gabriels right away, I wish I had. I also stripped the post and had to cut the strut out. I think the struts they are selling especially for the frornt have a piston shaft that is too long.

I wasn't thinking of buying them...just needed to settle an argument that they are, indeed, pieces of junk.
