Need help passing inspection!!!
Need help passing inspection!!!
I've had a front bank o2 code and an intake air temp code for about 6 months now, and im way over due for inspection(about a year). Im getting new front tires within a week, but the other 2 things are throwing codes so it still wont pass inspection. Is it possible to cover it up or something? Just got a parking ticket today at school and if im not inspected by the court date im dead. i was thinking of bringing it in and having them do the sensors at the time of inspection but now we're talking a few hundred bucks. My cai came a week ago, and should go on asap, so is there a way to take out the intake air temp sensor and leave it out. Would it fail inspection that way?
Dont do any mods till AFTER the inspection is done.
Just get it fixed IF you have the cash flow.
Now the question is..... do you wanna PAY a private place $150 to get it done(pass) or fix the problem right...
I would just try to reset the light and bring it to a shop to PASS it.
Good Luck.

A little late for not doing any mods, i just had the y and cat replaced, as well as a new muffler. I dont think that should be a problem except for noise, but it should be able to pass inspection considering i've seen civics way louder than my setup.
resetting the ecu does will not pass inspection, u will get something like "monitor not ready" for various things that you have broken.
U cannot "cover up" codes stored in the ecu. any obd2 scanner will pick that up
what u need to do is either get a fake inspection, (pay someone off) which i think is the best thing to do in your case because fixing things now will cost u alot and u sound like u dont have much money since u r in school and spent all of it on mods instead of fixing ur car.
or pay money to fix all the issues - something i think u should have done knowing u have an over due inspection fro ma year ago (lol) before putting any mods on a car.
as far as the Ypipe, u will have to HOPE that it will pass because it eliminated key precats and u will have to really warm up the car before any legal inspection.
good luck man, but thats a lesson for everyone, fix the car first before modding

Actually i wasnt planning on driving the car, thats why it hasnt been inspected. Once the turbo is done its supposed to be a track only car, but we've been getting crazy weather lately and the bike aint cuttin it, so i had to take it. I'll probably just get 2 new front tires for like 200, then order an o2 and iat sensor and do them myself, dont feel like getting raped for a few hundred.
Haha, i live in one of the wealthiest suburbs in NY, im not being racist but there aint no brothas here. Thats also why all the shops around here want 200 for an o2 sensor. On the up side of things, i just replaced the y so i should be able to get at the o2's pretty easy and the intake air temp sensor i think is on the maf or right around it so i'll look later to see how easy replacement is.

back on topic; have you considered the o2 delete mod? don't know too much about it but a search should give you some info. some kind of resistor that replaces your o2 sensor.
