Im an idiot, need help

I had just posted a thread about gettin a new key made because i only had one and on friday night i lost it somewhere, dont have a clue where, have called the places ive been since and no one has found them..

So what can i do, some guy last night told me i could go buy an ignition at like an auto zone and they will give me 2 new keys with it or somethin??

This sucks and i feel like an idiot +10, let me know thanks

if this matters its for the 99, which is the first year for that damn key

10-4. It won't be cheap either way but it is the simplest thing to do.

Im in the same situation. I got a 99 SE-L and the Dealer doesn't have the code for the key anymore. So i gotta go trough a locksmith. One of the local ones said it would cost $125 for a key and $50 more for a spare. Thats if i get the car to him and because i have a mechanical copy. So if your planning on having him some out to you, be ready to spend around $250(for two keys). Which is still better than the dealer. Cause the dealer charges 80 for the key and 80 to program it, not to mention you still have to bring the car to them.

Read above man. He can't just get another key cut...99s have immobolizers that need to be programed. Go to a locksmith and have them make a key, tow it to the dealer, and have them program your key.

+ 1 Locksmith then dealer...sucks that there is no other choice but look at it this way...i bet u'll keep this new key safe at all time knowing what u have to go through to get a new one.

ya that would be awesome only, id have to get my car towed to the dealer($$$), then wait til the dealer is open to get the keys made my car back, i needed it by last night at the latest so overall it went well. $80 for a key with the immobilizer at the dealer??? they quoted me $200 for labor and a key 2 weeks ago which i would have never payed, i would have went the cheaper route in buyin the key somewhere and havin them make it for $100 but i couldn't do that when i lost my key..Is 3 keys and service for $280 bad or somethin... i thought it was quite the deal, insted of buyin 2 extra keys and gettin them for around that same price...maybe im wrong
