Maintenance question
My Max is making this sort of "whirring" sound when I accelerate (especially when i get it over 3500-4000 or so) and i was wondering if anybody had any idea what that might be. Just started a few days ago.
If it is a high pitched whirring sound that increases in pitch as the engine is revved, it might be the alternator bearings. But if it's the alternator, you will hear the sound all the time, not just between 3500-4000 RPM.
So, that leaves a bunch of other possibilities. It could be normal drivetrain whine, the sound of your tires on the road, a vacuum leak, or a bunch of other problems. You need to leave us a better description in order for the people here to diagnose it over the internet.
