I just learned from a friend yesterday that there is a law (at least in NY) that one can't drive w/o the shoes or a shirt.. Is that for real?

Thanks

I don't know about the shirt law. But I am almost sure about the no shoes law. You need to be wearing some sort of footwear. I don't think it's very comfortable to drive without shoes anyways.

RE: Shirt & Shoes Laws...

I don't know about the shirt thing, but I know a guy that got pulled over for speeding and extra fines for no shoes. Sucks. Just trying to help .

Yeah, I always wear the shoes & the shirt- no shoes is not comfortable, 2nd- try driving w/no shirt on leather...but I just did not know there was a law about that.
What other strange laws are out there?

Being from PA, I've heard that there are laws against driving in barefeet. I seem to wear flipflops all the time so it is very difficult to drive with them on, so I take them off. I am more comfortable driving in bare feet, but it is harder to heel-toe. Never been busted for it, just my mom telling me it is illegal...

in texas, you dont have to wear a shirt, dunno about shoes though, i always drive barefoot... and i wonder if there is an exception about girls having to wear shirts... just a minor distraction while driving...

Is there a law explicitly prohibiting driving a 4th gen Nissan Maxima without shoes/shirt?

Thanks

I, for one like driving with just my socks on. I have razo pedals, and it feels like a foot massage.

In texas it's not illegal to drive without a shirt, I see people in jeeps doing it all the time. BUT it is illegal not to have shoes on while driving, although I love driving with no shoes.. don't know why. Except of course while driving a manual.. then I need shoes b/c I need all the help I can get.. haha..

Most likely if it's legal in CA, then it's legal anywhere...CA has the toughest driving laws in the country.

Gratuitous political thought-
Ever notice that the most liberal states have the most restrictions on personal freedom???

It's been stated before, it IS illegal to drive with no shoes on in NY. No shirt is okay also. Walkman's are illegal, and so is driving with no hands.

I don't know bro, I have less feel for the car driving in my socks.. Especially braking since my brake pedal has a lot of moving room before it begins to bite. About the shirt, before I got my max, I used to drive my dads Mercury Sable to the beach and stuff, etot kusok govna had no A/C so I was pratically in my underwear with the windows open. Good thing it has cloth, I would have burned to death. I did this a lot too, I'm sure I passed quite a few cops too and they didn't give a ****, I bet they felt bad for me seeing the car is an 87 POS covered by rust with the rear shocks shot sagging to the floor.
