When I got in my car tonight, I realized that there was less light in front of me when I turned on my lights. Sure enough, my foglights weren't working. I looked at the fuse for the foglights by my airbox. It was still ok. I didn't check the module on the other side of the engine labeled "FR Foglight" though. Could the wire harness have burnt out? If so, why would both foglights go out at the same time?

By the way, I have aftermarket (APC to be exact) foglights.

It might be an odd coincidence for both to occur at once, but maybe the bulbs blew out. You might also want to check the switch on your turn signal lever.

 

I found the problem but I dont know how it happened.

I checked the actual fog lights and both had cracks in the glass on the bottom part of the bulbs(between where the wires enter the glass and the actual filament). I replaced those with my old bulbs and they work again.
Has anyone else had this problem before? Can I get my money back or something because i've only had these bulbs for a month and a half.

The lights were made by APC and I cant anywhere to contact them for info or to complain either.

 

In the future, shy away from buying auxiliary lamps and bulbs from APC. These products are of poor manufacture and tend not to last for more than a month or two. I purchased their upgrade harness less than a year ago and since then the relays in the kit have crapped out. I'm looking to replace them with some quality Hella or Bosch units as soon as I get the chance.

 

my fuse AND both bulbs burned out... bought from ebay... they were dimmer than stock. That's what I guess for buying ebay bulbs... big mistake, now stock are back in and i'm messing with em.

 

Well, since APC foglights apparently suck, what does everyone recommend for H3 sized lights then?
