I ordered a Pacesetter STS from carparts which should be here tomorrow. I ordered the one for 95-96 Maxima assuming it would fit. But upon searching, I found this post:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ght=pacesetter

Is there a separate shifter for the 97-99 or not? I do not see why it wouldn't fit, since most of the 97 facelift was cosmetic.

Also, where should I adjust the shifter when I get it? I was thinking I would make it about 50%, but is full short too short? Should I cut it to the lower setting to make it shorter? I want it to be like a Honda. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

97+ has the o2 sensor in a different place (after the cat on the 97+, and in the cat on the 95-96-I think), you need the exhaust with the mount for the o2 sensor, or have one drilled in and a bolt welded in place for the senor to mount to.

Thanks for the info. Any recommendations on the adjustments anyone?

BTW: I paid 70 bucks.

Hey that was my post you referenced, ya I bought it thinking it would fit my 97, but apparently something was changed after 96. I can tell 100% that it will not fit correctly on a 97. I looked around and I have never seen anyone list a pacesetter STS application for a 97-99, only 95-96. By the why you must have been searching deep that post is like 6 months or more old.
