I work at a Specialty Car audio store. Kicker Solo baric's are by far the clearest and hardest hitting subs around. if you have enough RMS wattage to power them. They hold the record for loudest db in the world at 170 decibals. i had kicker comp vrs and a kicker zr 360 and it hit pretty hard. the only prob is the big metal plate behind the seats prevents the subs from receiving enough air to perform optimally. if you remove it your seats (if cloth) act as a grill. even if leather the difference is very large. your best bet is to get a custom box made that is ported that fires through the opening for the back armrest. you could do a 240 and 2 kicker comp vr's and that would sound nice. make sure the amp you get puts out rms not peak power. 1000 watts peak is equal to less than 300 watts rms... thats just some info for all those people who buy boss and california 2000 watt pieces of garbage for 100 dollars. but if anyone wants i can hook you up with decent prices on kicker, clarion, kenwood, pioneer, concept and mb quart products.

I agree with basically everything you said

People dont realize that their solobaric sounds like crap ONLY because they are pushing it with a 2000watt amp.... 2000watts max, equals like 50real watts haha... solo L7's ONLY sound EXTREMELY GOOD when powered properly... the power costs BIG TIME.. but is worth it

Maybe you guys could help me then.

I have a Kicker 10" Solobaric powered by a PPIA600 Art Series Amp, some of the cleanest power ever made.

And it is quite audible, bot not nearly as loud as one would expect when firing through the ski hole with the armrest down.

I thought there was something wrong with my amp or box, so I hooked the amp up to an old Punch 10 in the same box, and BOOOOOM....sounds REALLY loud.

The Kicker doesn't pop, sounds fine, but isn't that loud.....wtf?

I KNOW Kicker is better than Punch..this is ridiculous....what's going on?
