can you put 97 up tails on a 96. Only answer if you've done it or know someone who has. Want to change my lenses to red and clear, and like the newer ones better, plus can do the mod my self without having to buy clears. Would rather spend like 50 bucks for 97 lights at the JY and DIY. Thanks for your input.

Re:Tail lights
I don't think your going to find any one here who has done a direct swap,so I figured I'd tell you why it's not the greatest idea. The problem is that the 95-96 trunk has a bend in it about half way down and so do the 95 tail lights. In 97 the trunk and the tail lights became flat,so if you swaped 97 tail lights on your 96 they would stick out were the crease on the trunk is.The only way you can realy do it is to get a new trunk $$$.

dude i don't think that is possible unless u have money. problem one is the crest on the trunk. you would have to make the trunk swap. number two the taillights are different size. the 97+ are bigger. unless u have the money to get a new trunk and re-mold ur outer sockets for the taillight don't consider doing this mod. and if ur whole point is to get the red/clear combo then go to nopi.com they have it two piece outer clear and two piece outer red/clear. check it out!

Sure you can... but you'd have to take it to the body shop so they can reshape your trunk.
