I use

WINDEX, NEWSPAPERS, and a lotta elbow grease! it works out great. I rarely have to use the wipers cause it just slides right off.

Had that problem

I had that problem for a while too. I also used the rainx stuff and it worked great but now that I see this I wonder if there is some conenction to the rainx and the problem. I found a resolution to the problem though do about 90 down the highway and have a rock come up and break your window. Get your windshield replaced - seemed to work for me.

If you're talking about when you use the washer fluid/wipers, try putting in 20/10 (that's the name of the stuff, it comes in a green bottle, I think MB uses it from the factory) into the resovoir. You don't need too much, like maybe 2-3 capfuls. It really works great in making your window super clear.

Another thing i remember reading was

try using a bottle of club soda. The fizzing might help.

Try some Bon Ami or Bar Keepers Friend. Its a fine powder but it works great. I tried it on our 1986 Jeep's Winshield which had 15 years of grime on it and it helped a ton! I saw this on some detailing show on TV. This show also said you can mix up alcohol and vinegar to use but I didn't get any great results with it. The powders actually polish the glass. On the cans it says not to use on glass but I haven't had any problems. I would stronly recommend you try it on a small spot though in case something bad does happen. I have not tried it on the Maxima yet but I guess all winshields are the same??

get a product called vision blade. It's sorta like rainx however u only apply it once and it's supposed to last 6 months, but my friends say it lasts much longer than that. Just make sure you read the direction and apply it correctly otherwise u'll get streaks for the first three weeks.
