So that it looks a lot cleaner. For example, my turn signals in the bumper are on constant and match the side marker. The corner lamp next to the headlight matches the intensity of the headlight. It just looks a lot cleaner, and a lot sportier.

How do you rewire your blinker so they are on constant with the side markers?... I rewired my corners so they alternate blinking with my side markers....can I do both or no...any help that you can give would be great.

ok

Mr.loyd
the corner light is the top light next to the headlight.. its not a signal .. it doesn't blink when you put the signal on .. on 95-96 max's tho it get brigher when you put the signal on and what you can do is get it to stay that bright..

gr95: yes you can do both .. I did and it looks real good..

to rewire the corner light next to the headlight for 95-96 only just switch the postive wires...there are two positives.. just cut and switch them and reconnect..

for better insructions go to Jeff K's site .. megamax site
or Chebosto's site http://www.maximadriver.com

How do you wire the blinkers so they come on with your parking lights and then still blink like they are made to do......

Doug, I tried that mod last nite. I don't mind it, but it still wont light the front turns with park or headlights on.
What I do get is blinking sidemarkers both W/ and W/O headlights on. Thats great, but I'm going to replace the socket for the front signals with a dual element one and wire it so I have a running light as well as a blinker. Funny, all other cars seem to have this.(???)

Turn Signals

I changed my single bulb and filament sockets in my turn signals to the dual bulb and filament sockets yesterday. Now, the turn signals are on the with the side markers but also blink when activated. Very cool. Do it, it changes the look of the car.

Why would you want this. The reason why they are on/off instead of dim/bright is for safety reasons. There is more discernable contrast between a bulb that blinks on/off than when it's dimly lit and blinks. There are reasons why engineers do things a certain way...sometimes you've got to trust them.

Erik, yeah, that sounds neat. Tell me, how did you wire it? The dual bulb has a hi and lo beam to it, the hi goes to the existing signal, whats the lo one go to? The side marker light?

Thanks,

Jack

Albertt, What I have right now is a car with NO forward facing lights with the parks on, also if a headlight is out NONE of the lights facing front will mark the front of the car at that point. LOTS of cars have front park lights with headlights. *I* can see a blinking light thats dim/bright quite easily, why can't you? Theres a vast diff in brightness.

If I am wrong and Nissan is so right about this, I have GM, Ford, Crysler, Honda, etc, etc on my side. Its not too emabrrising for me to be wrong with so many.

(FWIW, I read your post about leaving corner lites on all the time, and while I agree that they should not be on all the time, I hardly think its worth a crusade over. Just my 2c)

See ya,

Jack

You do have light facing forward besides the headlamps...your parking lamps next to the headlights. If your headlights go out...change the bulb...any light your bumper lights throw wouldn't be enough to drive by anyway.

You're right GM, Ford, Crysler, Honda, etc do use dim/bright bumper lamps, but they also apply this to many of their tailights. Another bad idea.

These are my opinions...and I'm just voicing them. Take it easy.

Haha.

You also have Nissan on your side...

My old '91 Stanza had turn signals that worked in the "dim-bright-dim" fashion.

Didn't bother me, but I do think that it is safer the way the Max comes stock.

Albertt and Jack, [he's chillin' :) ]

The lights next to the headlights do not point forward, but kind of 45 degrees to the side. I only refer to the case that the headlight goes out and on the trip home to fix it your cars' not lit on that side except lights that are on the side, and on the 45 degree to the side. I was not implying that anyone can drive by this light, but for OTHER drivers to see ME. [it'd also make the turn/side marker look flush with light all across]

You're right GM, Ford, Crysler, Honda, etc do use dim/bright bumper lamps, but they also apply this to many of their tailights. Another bad idea.
Well, I have to agree, somewhat, but only with TAIL lights. I dont find the bright/dim thing an issue with the front end. Those should ONLY be blinking and not on constantly. I think MOST car taillights have an arrangemnt where theres like six bulbs across and when you brake, you see bright, dim, bright, and theres also the 3rd light that helps a lot. Stupid car owners dont keep them working and REALLY make a car hard to tell if they;re stopping or not. But none of this really relates to FRONT turn signal lights, IMHO.

These are my opinions...and I'm just voicing them. Take it easy.
ok, ok, I'm chillin' <breathe>

Re-wiring

When you use a dual filament bulb and socket, it does not have two different shades, it is always the same color, with and without the turn signal on. Go to this site and check it out, very very simple. http://maximanorth.homestead.com/fil...mods_rwts.htm. Email with questions
