It's time to change my pads, does anyone recommend any type over the basic stock ones?

Check the sticky above about maintence items for different pads and part numbers, as for a recommendation, I currently use Hawk pads, but have had the same results with nissan pads.

Porterfields. I highly recommend them.

I use Carbon Metallics from AutoZone....
They rock!
They stop on a dime, and leaves very little dust.
I haven't washed my car in a month (It's been nothing but monsoons in NE FL), and the front wheels look cleaner than my back wheels (I use Raybestos in the back).
For $27, they can't be beat.

In threads dealing with disk brake squeal I said that I've had good results with brand-name aftermarket parts such as Raybestos. I can't comment on dust. I've never owned a vehicle with alloy wheels so brake dust has not been a problem.
