Has anyone else had trouble with their factory CD player, not the Bose.

Just says error upon trying to play a CD.

I was wondering if there is any hope other than replacing the unit.

Try running a CD cleaner disk in it. Might have some dust/dirt that set up on the laser. Or the drive motor may have failed. Do you hear it spin up at all?

 

Its spins, but then it doesn't play, just stops and says error.
