I was cruzzing to the local movie theater in my friends 97 maxima se 5spd. Currently he has a cold air intake and I think a y-pipe, also a dynomax muffler. We pull up to a redlight in front of wal-mart and this mustang comes flying out of nowhere past us and almost runs the redlight. So he backs that thang up and keeps revving his GT stang. I look over at him and he is jmping around and dancing in the car. He gives us a nasty look as he powerbrakes the car. I'm thinkin tis guy is and idiot. The light turns green and he waves like he is saying good bye to us, I tell my friend lets go the stang got a good jump on us but by 3rd gear we had him by a car length. I know he was flooring it cause he caught second and third pretty good in the stang. Anyways just thought everyone might like to know that even with small mods the maxoma is a RUSTANG BEATER.

Thats cool. The other guy was probably a bad driver because he has a more powerful car. But hey, the driver is a big part of it.

Well, stock for stock, a 4th gen Max should beat a Stang off the line (depending on what year the stang is, those 94-96's are no problem), depending on the driver. If the stang was auto, then the Max should win pretty easily, especially a modded Max.

A 4th gen max should beat an equivalent V6 mustang if the transmissions are the same. A Mustang GT would be a tougher challenge, but a modded 5-spd Maxima should be able to run even with it if driven properly.

Yeah, I think that Mustang you beat should have been quicker too. The dude prolly thinks he all that with his V8, but it doesn't count jack unless you know how to drive the car.
