ZEX kits say that they can be used on any fuel injected car. Is this true and will they work on the MAX? Is there any reason the NOS kit is better (besides price)?

I tried the search and found nothing. I know this has been discussed before, sorry if this is an old "?".

ZEX is new and so they don't have the proven track record of NOS or NX. People know that the solenoids in NOS and NX kits are reliable, ZEX hasn't been around long enough to get the same record. And you don't want an unreliable nitrous system. Also, NOS makes kits that can be used on any fuel injected car. Every nitrous company makes a kit that can be used on any fuel injected car.

I had a ZEX kit on for a few weeks. I was runnin a 75 shot and had no problems. I then switched to a SC and even sprayed the ZEX once with the SC (WOW) but then took it out. So that is all I can tell you is that it worked great while I had it with no problems, probably didnt have it long enough to tell about reliability. Take Care

While you can use the ZEX kit, I would recommend the NOS kit for the fact that most of the people using nos on this board are using that kit, and you will be able to get more support and questions answered from an experience perspective. Just my $.02

The NOS system seems to be a lot more tunable than Zex. There are also more accessories available.

My friend who knows a lot about cars told me that nitro oxide is very dangerous. He said it will make your engine explode. How does it work? Why will it make your engine explode?

It doesnt sound like its worth the risk.

I heard that everytime you press that button for the nos that it takes 3000 miles off of your car... i wouldn't doubt it...

explosion

I hope I'm correct...but here goes...you engine already creates an explosion with the mixture of gasoline + air + the spark from the spark plug. NOS creates a bigger explosion to push the piston down harder. Pretty much every mod will take a toll on your engine because you're putting more stress on it to make it work harder. Just reving up your to 6000 rpms will take a toll on your engine...it's just that some mods will take a bigger and more noticeable toll.

Ya gotta pay to play, but no ones forcing anyone to pay admission. Those in the know are okay with it, those who are not fear it. Its all a matter of your perspective. Ive had no problems with my NOS or engine. If you abuse it, you will lose it. Same with anything, crank up the boost on your SC too much and bye bye motor, add too much nos without enough fuel and bye bye motor.

Close, but not quite. NOS itself isnt flamable. It is a way to get more oxygen into the combustion chamber. Since you are pulling in more oxygen, you can add more fuel. More oxygen + more fuel = more power.
