I was wondering what is the little bottom labeled "security" next to the ignition supposed to do?? (the one you have to press to take the key off) I've noticed 95 max don't have it, but my 96 does...

When making a post please take a moment to proofread it. Your post is confusing. The word is "button" not "bottom". The ignition key doesn't have a button, the ignition lock has a button. 5-speed Maximas have this button, automatics don't. Apparantly Nissan wanted to prevent an accidental removal of the ignition key. According to the Owner's Manual an automatic has to be in Park in order to remove the key. 5-speeds don't have a Park so the key release button is used as a substitute.
