somebody said nissan switched from obd1 to obd2 between 95 and 96. my question is: does the 95 respond better to mods than the 96? what about costs...are the same mods more expensive on the 96?

thanx,
eric

Yes there is an OBD-I on the 95 and an OBD-II on all maximas after that. Actually I believe the OBD-II responsed better too mods, and the mods are the same really, most of them.

the mods are usually made for the years like this:
94 and below,95-96 and 97-01 thats not true for all because some mods fit most maximas. it all depends on the mod. They are also cheaper if you have an older car

Get a '95 if that's what your debating over. Lightest and least amount of speed emissions.

Although my automagic is very fast, go with the manual if you are pro-racing. About a second faster, and unbelievable torque.

Peace

The early 1995s (made before Feb. 1995) came with PARTIAL OBD-II compliance. Feb.'95 and after are fully OBD-II.

My dad bought his '95 GXE in '94. I just bought my '95 SE this past june. Dad's max has 169,000 miles on it, mine has 56,600. Both have pop-chargers. His has aftermarket ergon 15" wheels, (15x6.5) and I have 17x8 Konig caffeines.

His feels quicker off the line. But maybe that's becuase of my rims, AWESOME sound system, and little factory extra's.

Oh, and both have the superior automagic transmissions!

You know you can lower your speed emissions by changing your blinker fluid more often.

I got synthetic. But the forged knudesen valve yielded no gains on the dyno...

No, that's not correct, its if you change the license plate light fluid then you speed emisssions will go down. Please stop dispersing incorrect information. Amateur.

Props for the work but you are still a bish to David. He had to paint and coat them perfectly. You had to remove an orange peice. Woohoo.
