springs and shock question

springs and shock question

when u get a lowering spring set do u have to get a shock set too or can u just put them on ur normal shocks?

If you're gonna pay a mechanic to put on the parts,

get the spring and shocks. But if you're gonna do it yourself, I'd just get springs first and get aftermarket shocks if the stock ones go out. But the problem with the shocks is that Koni is the only realistic option for the Maxima people, but it is not a direct bolt on. Everybody says dont get tokikos. And also the KYB AGX for the Maxima should be coming out within this year. So I'd get springs only for now, and get the KYB AGX when it comes out.

When I was a newbie, I thought I'm in big trouble I dont get new shocks with new springs. That's why I've been putting off getting springs for so long because it's too expensive when you get both the springs and shocks.

wait for the agx if you can't handle installing the koni's.

You might look for used Koni's soon if some rides switch to KYB's or upgrade to Cattman's Racing susp. Those would already be fitted and bolt right in.
