Could someone please tell me what a shift kit is? Is this something for an auto tranny or a manual? I've heard different explanations from different people, so I don't know what to think. Does anyone know?

So, a shift kit lets you manually control the gears on the 4-speed auto??? Does anyone make one for the maxima? Does it increase performance?

a shiftkit makes your tranny shift quicker... this eliminates the mush between gears on an auto.. if you notice when youre gunning it in a automatic when the tranny shifts, its not a fast shift... the shiftkit also makes it possible to chirp 2nd gear with an automatic

 

Simply put it speeds up upshift and downshifts. It will make your automatic shift much faster and harder. It is a Valve Body Modification. See the link by Dave or go to Don in Texas's MobilTek site. Nuff said.
