headlight problems, bulb + socket is fine.

well yesterday my bulb blew so i took it off and replaced it, when i replaced it the light still didnt work.

i checked the bulb by putting it in the other socket, and it worked so the bulb is fine..

i then looked at the harness to see if its melted, and it wasnt.
at this pt i was stumped..
what is the cause of this ???

what type of bulb was in there? so aftermarket bulbs stretches out the terminal inside the connector making a loose connection to the bulb. some times the connector is melted slightly where you can't really tell & the bulb can not be pushed in all the way.
i think the best thing to do is the HID conversion. its a lot of $$$ but much more worth it.

Examine the headlamp socket for signs of overheating (melted plastic, scorched appearance). Repair as necessary.

Check fuse #53 (15 amps) and fuse #54 (15 amps). These fuses are located in the long fuse box in the engine compartment, adjacent to the battery. I could have narrowed it down to #53 or #54 if you had specified which headlamp is not working. When you post a request for technical information please give lots of detail. Better too much than too little.

Another problem area is the combination switch. For more information please refer to the Chilton repair manual (page 8-25) or the Haynes repair manual (page 12-5). Haynes has better coverage on this topic.
