Questions on H&R springs with KYB struts

Hello:

Right now I am in process of getting my suspension closer to stock
levels to get the car ready to sell. (I know some of you have
sent me some emails with regards to my coilovers that I currently have... )

I was thinking of getting KYB struts rather than the OEM Tokikos.
I have never really been impressed with Tokiko in terms of their ride quality even on a stock setup.

For those of you that have them, how would you rate the overall ride qualities of them. Do they keep the tires planted or do they allow them to bounce up and down on rougher roads?

TireRack told me they are compression adjustable while my Konis are rebound adjustable.

Also about H&Rs. Do any of you know the effective spring rate for the soft and firm zones of the springs? I remember my Eibach prokits were about 150LB to 250LB in the front with the stock OEM GXE springs being near 200LB linear.

I was told by TireRack that their feedback suggests that the H&Rs are a softer ride. I think I've read the same on this site.

I would appreciate any feedback you all might have.

It depends which KYBs you get. The GR-2 are stock replacements, and will not yield performance greater than Tokico Blues. The OEM Tokicos are not the same as the blues. If you are willing to wait until the end of the year, KYB AGX adjustables will be available for 4th gens.

The H&R's are pretty good in my opinion. In terms of ride quality, it is excellent on the highway (I have H&R/Tokico), but in the city, it's kidney jarring hell. Oh well, an acceptable compromise I suppose. Performance is excellent, but I hear Eibachs are slightly better at the expense of ride quality. Still, I think this setup is lightyears better than stock.

Hello Eric L:

Do you have the Tokiko Blues or the OEM Tokikos?

i have H&R with Tokico for 2years now. The ride is almost as good as stock, and has the handling or a 2door. I also have the Stillen FSTB,RSB and Courtesy RSTB that all contribute to my superior handling.
It can be harsh on certain bumps but overall i love the ride. Im just not that happy with the drop, i was hoping for it to be lower than it is

Just put the H&Rs in last weekend. Stock bangers, ride is smooth on the highway, some dips might be a bit hard, I haven't been in the city yet with them. Handling is excellent, the car is definately planted on the ground.
