Need suggestions for removing dash stain

Hey guys I need some suggestions for getting a very stubborn stain off of my dash. It was actually a couple of black streaks that I tried to get out and only made it worse. I don't know what it is or where it came from but it has a grease/tar quality to it. I've tried 409, Simple green degreaser and just plain soap and water. Any body know something that might take it off? Luckily it's on the airbag part of the dash and could be replaced if it doesn't come off. Anybody know if I can get just the airbag cover? Any advice greatly appreciated.

I heard if you remove your spoiler and sell it to me, the stain will go away! J.K. Good luck with it though!

Buy some dash paint and just repaint the dash.

Or you could get some citrus interior cleaner from an upholstery shop...that stuff works wonders!

Ok thanks for the suggestions so far. I'll try the citrus stuff but I'm pessimistic as to its results seeing as I've already tried degreaser and just tried some thinner. I don't think I will go to the extreme of painting the whole dash but I may have to replace just the airbag cover where the stain is.

don't use anything too harsh cuz it will remove the color of you interior.
it it don't come off or you removed too much of the interior color, you could always have a upholstery shop re-dye that area for you

You guys might be right about the paint(or dye) coming off. I got a price for a brand new cover but they don't sell them separate from the airbags. $887 from Courtesy Nissan. OUCH! Guess I'll have to get it dyed. I'm afraid it might not match and I'll have to get the entire dash done. Anybody have any idea how much to dye it?

I may have to go that route but want it to stay stock color. Does that company you got the paint from carry it? And will I have to do the whole dash to make sure it matches?

You want the "Color coat"
Yes, you will need to do the entire dash to blend it in.
