Let off the gas and then slowly apply it again, or the car will stay in 3rd...

I've never had this problem. At WOT my car shifts right into 4th and immediately locks the TC...zoooms right up to 140.

I haven't had the problem either, but Ive heard others discuss it and that was their solution...

consider it a "saftey feature" to keep you alive and maybe think about not driving over 100 mph

I thought if you dont get the upgraded tires from the dealership then it was governed? I also know about the letting off the gas trick but is this a possibility too?

ONE MORE TIME:

The only 4th gens that may have a limiter are GXE's. The only way to know for sure is to go out and try. I know this because I have a 95 GXE with the C&C package and that came with H rated tires...and it has a limiter.

I have a '97 GXE with C&C....bought it used, so I don't know what tires came on it stock....Z Rated when I bought it.

Top speed - 142

I think maybe it has to do with where the car was built...mine was a direct ship from Japan. Maybe the GXE's in the NJ Plant have them, and Japan not??

hmm

you people are crazy for driving that fast...
I was up to 95 in my new max recently.. but never went faster then 108 i believe.. and this is in my old 3rd gen. I really don't care if I have the speed limiter or not, since I don't go that fast anyways. I live in NYC, there is no where to get the car up to that speed
