How to adjust Linkage?

I need to know how to adjust the linkage on my auto transmission. For instance when the gear selector is in park the reverse lights are on and the car won't start because of the gear lock out. But it is not in reverse. Please help.

The part which needs adjustment is called the Park/Neutral Switch. The adjustment procedure is covered in the Chilton repair manual (page 7-13) and the Haynes repair manual (page 7B-7).

The Man

Hey thanks Daniel. There is a Mechanic at my local dealership that name is Daniel Martin. You would not know anything about that, would you?

I have never worked in any part of the automotive business, so it is not me. However with a name like that he must be handsome and smart. Right?!?
